Problem:

I have the following setup.

| | | | | |
| C1 | | S1D | | C2 |
---------- ---------- ----------

| | | | | |
| S1B | | S1A | | S1C |

S1A to S1D are screens on one server.
C1 and C2 are different client machines.

The top line works, but I'm unable to move from C1 to S1B for example.

Solution:

Allow users to specify where screens are relative to others regardless of which machine the screen belongs to.

Limitations:

Screens belonging to one machine cannot be rearranged by our GUI (this has to be done by the OS screen manager).

Any chance of putting in a feature where the system can auto detect screens on the server and the client and their positions?

Then use a GUI on the Server file to arrange the screens?

I've simplified the description a little. Let me know if I've misinterpreted.

You would want synergy to detect the number of screens on the server and any client.

Then when doing the screen setup it would display the 1,2,3,4,5,6 monitors on the server machine in the same layout that you have setup in windows/linux

Then when a client connects it would detect the client and have the client screen/s appear in a moveable box that would then allow you to place them anywhere (still as they are configured on the client/server)

Make sense?

I have the same problem, although with a slightly different setup:

________
| A1 |
|________|

| A2 || B |
|_______||_______|

A1 & A2 is one computer, B is another. Right now I've positioned computer A above computer B, but this boggles the mind when switching screens. Even with A1 directly above B, I'm unable to get the mouse pointer to go where it's supposed to when I move between screens.
