This is a problem I have tried very hard to reproduce
but have been unable to on demand, although it can be
reproduced locking the screen in Windows. If you hold
down the windows key and press L to lock the screen,
control over that client is lost; as a side effect,
the windows key remains stuck. When you attempt to log
on, if your password contains the letter L, windows
will fail to capture the L key when pressed until the
windows key is pressed again.

This is the same problem I am receiving upon interval
but cannot reproduce. I will hold down the control key
or shift key while typing, then release them before
switching screens. But I think a packet loss or
something is occuring which fails to notify the client
that the key has been released, so when you try to
continue typing, everything is in uppercase or if you
use vi like me, strange things happen :-S

My setup is:

See 1446556 for another description of what is probably the
same problem.
