When running the Synergy server on a Windows XP SP2
workstation:

  1. Stop Synergy server
  2. Launch NOTEPAD
  3. Do ALT+184 => should print the '©' character
  4. Launch Synergy server
  5. Enable NUMLOCK
  6. Repeat steps 2 & 3 => '©' is no more printed
  7. Disable NUMLOCK
  8. Repeat steps 2 & 3 => '©' is printed again

I found no option in order to configure this in the
server configuration dialog boxes.

I see this same problem on Win 2000.

On the server side, I need to turn off Num Lock in order to
use ALT with a number pad code to generate characters.

On the client side it doesn't matter if Num Lock is on or off -
the apropriate ASCII character is generated regardless (I
think this is the normal behaviour in windows).

The special Windows combination Alt+0nnn, where n's are
numeric keypad strokes, does not work at all on the server
when synergy is running. This should output the ANSI
character code nnn, whereas the combination Alt+nnn should
output the OEM character code nnn. I noticed when pressing
certain OEM combinations that the cursor would relocate
during entry of the code.

Are there any plans about fixing it? :)

This bug is quite annoying: I often want to type accented
vowels like "é" (é), ellipsis "…" (…), em
dashes "—" (—), en dashes "–" (–) using
Alt-keypad code, but I also want NumLock on by default.

.. and with 1.2.6 it's still occuring (at least under Win2k
Prof with SP4 and the Update-Rollup 1 installed..).

I'm very disappointed that there's no bugfix in sight nor
does a developer reply to this.. :(
