Bug #1404 - Monitor Does not enter power save
SourceForge user: nobody
Setup:
Windows XP SP2 server machine, with two monitors. Monitors should power off at 5 minutes, screen saver kicks in at 4.
CentOS 4 client, one monitor. (I can never find the power options for linux, so I can't test this machine's power save modes)
Synergy server is NOT configured to sync screen savers.
Screen savers come on at appropriate times, but power saving does not.
Thanks,
Brian Byrne

Update:
I did figure out power settings on the linux box, and that client is working a-ok :)
So, just the Win XP server is having power issues with synergy.
Thanks!

I have the same problem.
running two computers with two monitors. neither monitor enters power saving mode - screen saver comes on.
at one point, the secondary computer's monitor went into power saving mode, while primary computer is in screen saver mode. (enough time as elapsed for both monitors to be in power saving mode.) as soon as keyboard/mouse is activated on main computer, the secondary computer's monitor exits power saving mode (as if its keyboard/mouse was activated when it was not) and the main computer exits screen saver mode. cursor is active on primary computer.
at another point, the secondary computer's monitor stays in power saving mode until its keyboard/mouse is activated. no settings were changed from above. main monitor display still does not enter power saving.

I can confirm the above issues.
My Setup is as follows:
WinXP SP2 Dual 21" LCD setup (SERVER) LEFT
WinXP SP2 Single 17" CRT (CLIENT) RIGHT
The client machine on the right does power off correctly. The server machine does not. Unlike one of the other users, I do have Synergy set to sync the screensavers. All screensavers do come on at the same time, and then at the alotted time, the client machine powers off, and the server w/ the dual LCDs stays on, indefinitely.
Please let me know if you've encountered this, or if there is a workaround in place.

I have the same problem and have found no workaround, other than forcing the system into standby.

I'm having the same problem.
The server is running Windows XP Professional. The client is running Windows 2000 Professional.
Synergy is configured to not sync screen savers. Both screen savers are functioning independently as expected.
The client enters power save mode correctly, but the server doesn't. The XP monitor enters power save mode correctly when not running Synergy.

I also have the same issue. Windows XP SP2 server (sync screen savers disabled) and a linux client. The client's monitor will properly go into power saving mode, where as the Windows server will only display the screen saver at the appropriate time.
