I use a multi language keyboard setup on XP, using the default hotkey Alt-Shift to switch between deDE and us keyboard language. The client uses the kbd language of the server no matter what the client is set to, so it's impossible to have one system use deDE and the other use us.

Server & Client: Synergy 1.3.1, XP Home SP2

Not sure if this is related but special keys (for kanji, switching modes, etc) on my Japanese keyboard dont work either. I can use the special keys on the local keyboard (to switch modes,etc) and return to the servers kbrd and it works correctly so im guessing something to do w/ the international part of the keyboard.

I've provided a patch for this bug (more a hack than a patch), but it works for me:
