If you notice that all of a sudden you cannot input
any characters into the PC you are working with ...
that is, only commands are being executed or property
boxes are showing up for executables, the problem is
that the mode has changed. To change back just click
on the ALT key (within WinXP environment).

I'm having the same problem with alt, and also ctrl and
shift. I have to press the keys in order to get them out of
this mode.

This is incredibly annoying when I'm trying to type up
documentation and emails. It happens on a regular basis,
many times a day.

I should also note that this only happens on the server,
which is running WinXP. My client is running RHEL4 and does
not appear to have this problem.
