After Enabling Gamepad Support The client wont Connect and The Server wont Start

How do you get a gamepad working? Im using a ps3 controller connected through bluetooth using motioninjoy (ds3) when I tick enable gamepad support under settings. I cant start the server or the client, after they connect fine previously with gamepad support disabled. Im using windows xp to connect to windows 7, the windows xp is controlling the windows 7.
