I am trying to run Synergy on two computers, a Dell Optiplex 745 as the client on my left with a dual monitor set up and a Mac Pro as the server on my right with one monitor, but soon to be two. I followed instructions to the letter in creating a configuration file, which I named synergy.conf. Using the -c argument and running from terminal, I still get the "no configuration available" error. Is there a step I missed in creating my config file, or is synergy incorrectly implemented? I also have SynergyKM installed in an effort to use the GUI to configure Synergy. When inside the GUI, clicking "Turn Synergy On" does nothing, as does checking the "Show Synergy status in the menu bar" option. All logs show "no configuration available." I can't seem to find the "use existing configuration" option previously mentioned on this forum, either. What seems to be the issue? |

Got Synergy "working" via the GUI. Simple kill processes and re-install. Then correctly label the screens. Now I'm having two problems, I believed linked. I can move the server's mouse and see that it recognizes the left side as an exit point, but all it does is return the server's cursor to the center of its screen. The cursor on the client does not move at all. I believe this is because I have no current definition of links, and links cannot be defined inside the SynergyKM GUI. I have a correctly configured config file, but I don't know where to put it to override the current server configuration. What now? |
