I have my PC set up as the server (32 bit, Win 7) and am trying to set up my Acer laptop (64 bit, Win 7) as the client. When I test, it fails, and the laptop gives the message that the server has rejected the connection with the client "with our name".

The names HAVE been entered correctly (I had to put in the server's IP address on the client). The client name is mixed case, but when I key that into the server setup it looks like, at some point, it's being converted to all upper case.

I've also tried putting the 32 bit version of Synergy on the laptop, but it still gives the same issue. I'm using the 1.3.7 version.

I HAVE been able to set up a connection between this server and my MacBook Pro as the client, and I'm following the same process for the laptop client.

Hmmm ... giving my laptop a new name (same name, just all upper case) and restarting it, then setting up Synergy accordingly, allowed it to work.

I'm not sure if that was the issue, as my MacBook Pro had mixed case in its name. But the server didn't attempt to convert it to upper case at any time, which it did for the Win 7 laptop.
