I have been running Synergy for ~6 months, and within the past two weeks, I've run across a painful bug twice that I haven't seen until now... I can't move my mouse from the server machine (Win7 64-bit) to the client machine (Win XP). I've tried restarting the appropriate Synergy service on each machine to remedy the problem, but the only thing that seems to fix it is rebooting the server machine. I can get to the client machine by using the Hot Keys I've set up, and the log output on both machines shows the client connecting just fine to the server. Does anybody know of a solution that doesn't require me to reboot the server machine?

I'm having a similar if not the same problem. I'm running 1.3.8 on server (win7 64bit) and client (winXP 32bit). When running the test from the server it connects and I can mouse over to the client. When running as a service on the server I cannot mouse over to the client screen. The log says I'm connected on the client. I know my config is right because it works when running in test mode. Please is there a solution or workaround for this?

I never did find a solution to the problem I was experiencing. However, sometimes Synergy would -- for some unexplained reason -- start working again.

I would say that your issue, kicker50, sounds like you could be running the service as a user who doesn't have permissions on the client. I'm running the service as a local user with Admin role on both machines -- and as admin on the server -- and it seems to work fine.

I have the same problem. Server and client have been running fine for days, today I can no longer move the mouse to the client screen. Hotkeys are working fine, thanks for the hint :)

Hello, I have similar issue - synergy was working all the time for few month and last week it stopped. Client and server do connect each other - configuration didn't change and both client and server are running as Administrators. I try to get new version installed from scratch and see if that works (currently I got 1.4.4)

Also I can confirm that switching desktop using hotkeys setup works.

Had the same problem. Debugging-level made it clear to me: screen locked for whatever reason...

simple solution: define a hotkey, that turns screen-locking off

Oh wow, you just solved MASSIVE frustration for me!! I always keep Scroll Lock on my keyboards as a matter of course, just to get the extra LED to light up. It's a useless feature. But using DEBUG Level like you said, immediately revealed that Synergy was failing to switch because it considered "screen locked"!! Why isn't this mentioned in the setup anywhere???
