Hi folks,

First I want to say that I have synergy working great between two Ubuntu based laptops. One is an HP HDX18 with an external monitor, and the other is a Dell Latitude E6410. The setup is as follows with the HP being the synergy server and having hte second monitor that is setup in the middle (physically)

right middle left dell (syn client) monitor HP (syn - server) 1440x900 1600x1050 1600x1050

I did get the flickering client screen when passing into the client machine, however running 'xset -dpms' before starting synergy on the client solved that issue.

My Question is this. Can I have the Dell laptop share the monitor that resides in the middle? The action I would like to see is this.

Start in the HP laptop (far right) move the moue into the middle screen, still displaying the HP desktop. However, when I pass into the Dell desktop, the monitor switches to show the dell's extended desktop that includes the monitor in the middle.

then when I move the mouse form the far left (Dell), across the dell screen into the middle monitor, the middle monitor is still showing the DEll desktop until I pass into the far right screen, the HP desktop, at which point the HP desktop re-claims the monitor in the middle? My monitor does have two inputs, so both laptops can be connected at the same time. I was wondering is synergy can handle this :)

thanks

Richard

Synergy is unable to control monitors. What I do is use a KVM for video only, and then use Synergy for the keyboard and mouse.
