[closed] Keyboard works differently on macbook client when open vs. closed

The particulars: Server running beta 1.4.3 on OS X Lion desktop iMac. Client running beta 1.4.3 on OS X 10.6 on MacBook Pro. I have included "shift = shift", etc. for all the modifier keys on the client side in the synergy.conf file. While the laptop is open, the modifier keys work normally. I am trying to set up a HengeDock (which docks the laptop in the clamshell/closed configuration), and the modifier keys (and even punctuation keys) go crazy.

Any thoughts on why that might be?
