I have the same issue, running 1.4.3 beta on Mac OS 10.7, synergys 1.4.3 and 1.3.7. Using the synergy client 1.3.7 on Windows XP.

The mouse travels between the two, but the keyboard will not type into the Windows XP client.

same issue for me ... apparently he doesn't care though because so many people are worried about this and it isn't working and he's writing code for a game controller to work instead.

(10 Aug '11, 18:28) cpierce

also the same issue here too.

Synergy: 1.3.7 stable and 1.4.3 beta

Machine 1 = OS X lion (synergys) Machine 2 = OS X Snow leopard (synergyc)

Symptom: - mouse moves fine, but no keyboard entry

(13 Aug '11, 03:58) aussiejd

Ditto. Synergy 1.4.3 on OS Lion server and 1.3.4 client on Snow Leopard. Mouse right, keyboard unconnected.

Synergy: 1.3.7 stable and 1.4.3 beta

Machine 1 = OS X lion (synergys) Machine 2 = OS X Snow leopard (synergyc)

Symptom: - mouse moves fine, but i get hotkeys on client side, but not on server side.

Just chiming in with information that might help reproduce the bug and/or find a work-around of their own...

Server: An iMac (27 inch, Late 2009) with OSX 10.6.8 running Synergy 1.3.7 stable.

Client: A MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.1 running Synergy 1.3.7 stable.

The network connection is FireWire (WEP 128 bit encryption) reserving internet from the desktop to the laptop.

My co-worker with a basically identical setup got his keyboard to work without lots of complexity. I jumped into the deep end following recommended dual connection setup for Macs described here: http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/autostart.html

Even after I fixed the bugs in that (the readme says to drop executables in /usr/bin but the shell scripts target a non-existence /usr/local/bin) his worked and mine didn't.

Another potential differences include that his server uses a wireless keyboard with relatively few adjustments whereas mine plugs in via USB and has a numpad and so on, plus substantial remapping to make home/end/pgup/pgdown work like linux/windows/solaris/etc.

Turning on debugging on both sides showed that keypress events were happening on the desktop server and nothing to correspond to them was showing up on the laptop client. I could connect. I could move the mouse back and forth. I could highlight something on the client and see clipboard debug messages on the server. But typing wouldn't function on the client.

In any case, a second co-worker with more Mac experience sent me to SynergyKM instead, and after monkeying with computer names and IPs and so on it worked and I'm typing this "bug report" on my laptop via my desktop's keyboard via synergykm. When I looked at synergykm's autogenerated synergy.conf it had all kinds of bells and whistles that might relate to the success. I don't have time to muck around much more but the laptop client running lion is described with lots of stuff roughly like this:

section: screens
 laptopclientlion:
halfDuplexCapslock = false super = super alt = alt ctrl = ctrl halfDuplexNumlock = false shift = shift halfDuplexScolllock = false serverdesktopsnowleopard: end

Hopefully some of that is related to success/failure and helps someone track their issue down :)

Has anyone submitted a issue about keyboards not working on lion? I see people talking about it but no actually issue reports.

This morning I got to work and everything worked for me. Only thing that I did last night was install xcode. Is anyone else having the problem with xcode installed?

Host: OSX Lion - 1.4.3 Client: Windows 7 - 1.4.3

(09 Sep '11, 13:42) Morgan

After a layoff occasioned by this issue, I tried it again and Heyhey! it's now working. I think this might, guessing from the above posts, be because I had installed Xcode in the interim to allow me to learn Java.

Or, maybe, it was the goat I sacrificed at midnight in the woods...

(09 Sep '11, 18:26) HappyJoe

I'll be camping this weekend and I'll try to find a goat to sacrifice to help everyone else out :) I have a problem with my meta keys not being mapped correctly but I'm pretty sure I'll figure that out when I get some time.

@HappyJoe : do modifier keys work as well? My keyboard and trackpad don't seem to have any issues, but none of the modifier keys (CMd, Control, Alt, Fn) work.

(12 Sep '11, 00:35) CodeK

I am also having the same issue. I tried hitting Fn + Option + F12 on the mac, and I toggled scroll lock on the PC on and off. Did not fix the issue.

I am running the nightly build 1.5.0 r1095 (opn both Mac and PC. The Mac is host running 10.6.8 and the PC is the client running Win 7 64 -SP1.

Please fix, Synergy is so awesome and this make me so sad. (sorry for incorrectly posting this as an answer before.)

It's still not working between Lion and Windows (mouse does, but keyboard does not).

Thanks in advance!

We're working on Lion support right now. Please hang on until we've fixed it.

Will second the answer of using 1.3.6 on both machines, installed on OS X Lion through Terminal. Then use QuickSynergy on Lion. Keyboard and shift key works !

Here's a link to installing Synergy 1.3.6 through terminal.

For me 1.3.4 works the best. Tried all other versions and this works. 2 computer running Lion.

The latest version works fine with mouse but no keyboard for me.

You need to install version 1.3.6 on both computers... That fixed the problem to me.

Finally found a working solution: Use QuickSynergy on Lion, SynergyKM on Snow Leopard and the usual installer on Windows machines.

Guys, try setting scroll lock. I had the same issue and this fixed it (Fn + Option + F12).

Turning on Scroll lock doesn't fix it for me. OSX 10.7.1 -synergy server 1.3.7 stable windows 7 x64 client 1.3.7 windows 7 x86 client 1.3.7

mouse moves between all three, no client keyboard though

(08 Oct '11, 00:59) culweygh

the 1.4.3 beta version of Synergy seems to work for OSX Lion server and Win 7 client. both the mouse and keyboard work, however the modifier keys do not work on the Win 7 client. so no capital letter, copy pasting etc.
