Yes, Synergy works on Mac OS X Lion. For Mac OS X Lion support, download the latest 1.4 version for Mac OS X 10.7. Okay so I did that. Now my main server keeps saying waiting for clients... On the mac I made sure to click Client. I also went into configure interactively. I made sure on the GUI I had my mac to the left and the server (PC) to the right. Still isn't working. Please help. Thank you!

That will be a problem with your setup. Go to View -> Log output -- and let me know of any errors.

I have tried the nightly as of 10/31 (1.4.6-r1155) and still can't use it with Lion as the server and Snow Leopard as the client. The mouse is very jerky and the keyboard still only works for basic characters. Any key modifiers fail and I have to move the mouse back to the server and then back to the client to get the keyboard partially working again. The logs show nothing.

P.S. I understand you are saying Lion is supported only as a client at this point. Just providing feedback from the server side.

57 is fixed! Great news. However, two-finger scrolling on the server with a Magic Trackpad is broken.

use the version from macports 1.3.1 sudo port install synergy we draw IT for you. Global Enterprise Resource and Service Planing - GERASP |
Have synergy setup on Mac OS X Lion as server (using synergys -f ..., not the icon/program), and Windows 7 64 Professional as a client.
When the active computer is Windows - neither shift key works, caps lock also doesn't work. Mac works great.
On the Mac i tried a PC USB keyboard, and the Mac USB keyboard.
Other than the shift key it's working great - im a first time user though and i only started using it earlier today.
Using version 1.4.3 beta
I've been using Synergy 1.3.7 for 2 days now after upgrading to OS X Lion on two MacBook Pro laptops. I do have an issue that when the Lion monitor enters power save mode, Synergy mouse or keyboard activity does not activate the monitor.
I'm trying to run it on a iMac, using the Mac as host, controlling my Windows Vista machine. Nothing works for me. The GUI is buggy and unresponsive. When I click to start Synergy then try again to turn it off the on/off button becomes unresponsive.
Basically it doesn't work at all for me. If I try to uninstall it I get an error. If I try to reinstall it, nothing changes. I also get an error when trying to uninstall it.
I hope this is fixed soon! Synergy saves me hours of time!
i had the same problems with the Mac GUI, i ended up using the command line version synergys
An update...
I was using Lion on a developer build. I've since updated to the released version, reinstalled Synergy and everything appears to be working normally.
Panic averted.
Keep up the good work!
p.s. I am using the standard GUI I didn't even have to switch to the command line version.
I agree with the above. SynergyKM didn't work on the first install, and then I had to kill the synergyd process from activity monitor, then uninstall, then on the second try it took. The prefpane is a bit buggy still though.
I use OS X as a server and Linux as my client, and have had everything working in Snow Leopard just fine.
For the people who have OS X Lion as the server working, what version are you running? Can you provide a link to it? I've tried several versions located at http://synergy-foss.org/download/ with no luck. Even some of the nightly builds I've had no luck with.
In order to get a stable QSynergy.app on Lion I had to download 0.9.0-2 from the qsynergy project on sourceforge. All the rest crashed on startup (even any of the nightlies for 10.6).
synergy clients on windows machines don't wake up from screensaver tho.
Server (Lion) and Client (snow leopard).
Mouse works fine.
Keyboard only works on server for keys not hotkeyed. for hotkeys, they only work on client even if i setup the server to use (key,*)
tested all versions from the download page and the latest nightly (latest nightly keyboard just works on server)
I'm using Synergy 1.3.1 (server) on Lion (10.7.1), and Synergy 1.4.2 (client) on WinXP SP3. No real problems, but when the WinXP client is active, the mouse pointer on the Lion server jitters around.
I tried Synergy 1.3.7 on the Lion server; the mouse pointer no longer jitters, but keyboard events are not sent to the client.
I have played for a few days and was able to get the following to work on TWO OS X Lion machines (one as server and one as client). The problem has not been getting the mouse to respond, it has been that the keypresses on the server were never correctly translated to the client. (So, when using the keyboard from the server to enter text or run keyboard commands like cmd+w, cmd+t, etc, it would not work.)
The server is running OS X 10.7 and the client is running OS X 10.7.1. (I will test with 10.7.1 on the server when I get done writing this and report back if 10.7.1 on the server breaks something.)
None of the new builds of synergys worked. I kept "downgrading" until I got to 1.3.6 (at http://goo.gl/EJflR). (I left the client running the 1.4.2 beta http://goo.gl/obLk3 - UPDATE: I did find that on a work iMac that I had to also downgrade to 1.3.6 because mouse clicks were not correctly coming across to the client.) My config file on the server is as plain as it gets:
synergy-server.lion10_7.conf
section: screens
osxserver.local:
osxclient.local:
end
section: links
osxserver.local:
right = osxclient.local
osxclient.local:
left = osxserver.local
end
section: options
relativeMouseMoves = false
screenSaverSync = false
end
Notice I didn't have to use any of the key commands/definitions.
I run the server command:
synergys -f --config ./synergy-server.lion10_7.conf
I run the client command:
synergyc -f osxserver.local
and it works. Notice, I'm also taking advantage of zeroconf/bonjour naming and could have done this with hard IPs, too.
It's still not working between Lion and Windows (mouse does, but keyboard does not).
Thanks in advance!
With Lion as the server and Snow Leopard as a client, the keyboard is unusable in Snow Leopard. As soon as I type backspace or any modifier the keyboard starts printing out weird extended characters. I'm using version 1.4.4.
Having tried 1.4.5 and 1.3.7 I can confirm problems with both.
1.3.1 works for me.
Server OS X 10.6.8, Client 1 OS X 10.7.2, Client 2 Windows 7 64 bit.
latest stable working on lion is 1.3.6 after that changes were made making keyboard not work.
I have had issues with synergy and lion and a windows 7 machine as the server
The only version i have found that works ok on lion is Syngery KM (1.3.1)
With newer version the clipboard sharing was broken going from pc to mac but it work mac to pc
