Using 64-bit synergy 1.4.3 with Windows 7 server and Ubuntu 11.04 32-bit client. While Right Shift is being pressed, several keys have no effect whatsoever: Space, Enter, Backspace, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down.

  • The server is sending the keys (seen with wireshark over the network);
  • Using the client's physical keyboard all those combinations work;
  • Using xev on the client to examine the key codes, they match up with the physical keyboard's events when used on their own but stop appearing when Right Shift on the server is pressed;
  • Pressing Right Shift on the physical keyboard does not block the above keys from the server;
  • Pressing Right Shift on the server does not block the above keys from the physical keyboard.

Thank you very much for this detailed analysis of the issue. I experience the exact same behavior with Synergy 1.3.6 and 1.3.7, server Windows XP x86, client Ubuntu 11.04 x86_64.

And also in my configuration, Delete key sends PrintScreen.
