I have 2 monitors, L (2560x1600) and R(1600x1200 portrait). The left(L) is PC kvm'd with my mac. The right(R) is direct connect to the PC. What I would like is to run the server on my mac, and the client on my PC, but only utilizing the right screen. Ideally I wish I could say in the server config, that R is restricted to coordinated 2560,3760,0,1600 (L,R,T,B - I don't care how the rect is specified, I'm just making an example). Ideally this would go in the aliases section; then I could map multiple aliases to the same hosts, but with different rectangle, and using the aliases in the links section would be entirely flexible. [ and truly self foot shooting worthy I might add! ] Is anything like this in the code already? If not, would it be terrible for me to add and submit for review? |

Synergy does not have this ability at this time. Although you can register only half of your screen (one of the two monitors) to be associated to the other machine for PC switching purposes, you cannot constrict the mouse to only one screen through Synergy. Although I have a similar setup in one of my offices, and can see the usefulness of this feature, I do not think it would give benefit to match what it would take to implement it. Don't forget to accept the answer if it addressed your question appropriately.
