I'm using Synergy on Windows 7 (on both Server and Client). I use Japanese 109 keyboard and some keys are not functional in the client. I raised debug level in the log to Debug2 then confirmed that the Synergy doesn't sense the keys - some key press activities won't show up. The keys which Synergy doesn't sense are [Muhenkan], [Shift]-[0], etc. Please let me know how I can configure that Synergy to recognize those keys. Or how I can bring this up to request to be supported if it is not configuring issue. PS. Most of keys including [Shift], [Ctrl], etc. work as I expect. Thanks. |

Is the client also configured to use a Japanese keyboard? If not, try changing the client keyboard setting so that it thinks it has a Japanese Keyboard also. I work with Japanese users and systems. Most Japanese staff request a standard US keyboard, and use Romaji input for the IME. Even their laptops they bring over from Japan now come with a US style keyboard. I used to offer to special order Japanese keyboards for them, but they all tell me the old style keyboard input is too cumbersome. Sorry for late reply. I assume "changing the client keyboard" is for OS configuration, not for Synergyc. I don't see any Japanese keyboard configuration in Synergy then. If so, yes, I configured that both Synergy server/client OS are configured to use Japanese keyboard. Japanese keyboard has several special keys which US keyboard doesn't have - such as Zenkaku, Kana, Henkan, etc. As long as I know, Synergy doesn't support such keys and no way to configure. My request is Synergy to support those keys. About US / Japanese keyboards, I know not few Japanese people use US keybaord on Japanese environment. However, I need Japanese keyboard for efficient use. Those special keys really helpful for my daily work. Thank you!

It will be difficult for the programmers to add support without having one of the native Japanese keyboards to test with. They would also need, at least, Romaji translations of the key labels. Posting your enhancement request on the mailing list might be a good way to go. (http://groups.google.com/group/synergy-plus/post?pli=1). If you are willing to donate a keyboard, mention that in your message. I will also give them whatever support I am able to.
