Does anyone know of any software that allows windows to be dragged across onto the screens of other computers? (working with Win 7 only) 2 screens is not enough for everything I need in the application I work with, this would be a dream come true for my workflow.

Additionally on the topic, if anyone knows how I could leech the use of the RAM and processing power from one computer to the other, this would also improve my workflow.. but now I'm just being greedy =P The first question is what's important to me here.. cheers =) T

Synergy does not support dragging Windows from one computer to another, but MaxiVista does (sadly this is not free and open source though, or even free as in "free beer" for that matter).

As for sharing RAM and CPU, I'm not sure this sort of thing is widely available for personal desktop PCs, but it's a nice idea.

Hey that's bloody brilliant, thanks crazy dude! =) And it works in conjunction with Synergy letting me switch one screen between the 2 computers.. kinda like having 5 screens here xD

You can also use ZoneScreen (http://www.zoneos.com/zonescreen.htm) to turn an old PC/laptop into an extra monitor. I did this with an old laptop until I got my dual video card. The PC becomes nothing more than a video relay, but it does the trick nicely.

ZoneScreen is FREE to boot.

I'd like to point out that ZoneScreen is not free and open source; just free as in "free beer".

Agreed, but in the absence of available open source, I'll take free. (can we make that free as in RootBeer :) )
