hi,

thought i would post this as i couldn't see a question and it is very annoying and i havn't found a fix that doesn't cause other issues.

basically. when i have an ubuntu box connected to a win 7 one (win 7 as server) and am controlling the ubuntu one if i enter the @ symbol i get an omega, the keyboard layouts are set to the same on both devices, i ahve re-imaged both machines and even changed physical hardware.

this is somthing that has been present for a few versions and jsut never gets fixed.....

any ideas ????

I have the same setup, weird that you have this problem and I do not. Can you please post your version numbers for synergy on both the boxes?

I notice that this only happens when I have caps lock on.

There's an old workaround that still works for me on the latest builds (1.4.x):

Create an executable script (I call mine "setAt4Synergy") and have it contain this text:

echo keycode 24 = q Q at at at at | xmodmap -

Run the script. You may see lots of newlines input just wait a few seconds until it stops and then input '@'

Enjoy.
