I’m experiencing a weird issue on my MacBook Pro when running the Synergy server. Would be great if some of you could see if it appears on your machine as well.

The issue manifests as a faint screeching sound when I scroll down a webpage in Firefox using the slide gesture on the trackpad. It only happens when I have the server on and a client is connected to it, but then it happens consistently. I can duplicate the issue at will by just turning the server on, opening a webpage and scrolling up and down. The problem instantly goes away when I turn off Synergy.

Note that I'm scrolling the webpage on my MBP, the server, not the client machine. The sound is very subtle but I can clearly hear it in a quiet room. I also suspect it has nothing to do with the trackpad but rather the gfx card. I don't have a mouse to scroll with where I am right now but I'll reply to this once I've tried it with a mouse.

It’s not that big of a deal, unless it turns out to develop into something more serious, but either way I’m trying to find out if this happens on all early 2011 MBPs or just mine.

Thanks.
