I installed Synergy 1.4.2 on my Windows XP laptop as the server and on my Linux Mint 10 (Ubuntu) desktop as the client.

It was working just fine for quite some time, but has recently stopped and I haven't been able to ascertain why.

The client will connect and disconnect just fine and the server log shows it has connected or disconnected, but I can no longer transfer control to the client machine.

I thought perhaps Windows User Account Control was the culprit, but I turned it on and off and when it is off the client cannot even connect, so I'm guessing at a minimum it should remain on.

Also, I had taken my laptop on trips both before it stopped working and since it stopped working. When it was working, trips would not affect Synergy when I returned home. I plug back in and it works just fine. Now, after returning from a trip, Synergy remains broken.

Any help would be greatly appreciated (obviously).

Have there been any recent updates to the Ubuntu machine?

By now, this happened about three weeks ago, so I'm struggling to recall any changes that could have caused this sort of problem.

I'm quite sure there had been no changes to the Ubuntu client machine. If anything, there may have been a change to the Windows server machine. The problem is I don't recall making any specific change that suddenly caused Synergy to stop working.
