Hello. First time poster here. I have the synergy on my, and my wife's computer. The only way I can get it to work is to run the server on her PC, and client on my PC. This will allow her to move her mouse onto my 2 monitors. The problem I am having is, when I run the server on my computer, they won't connect. All the tutorials I have come across seem to be of an older version. So, I have missing steps. The error I'm getting on my wife's PC when trying to connect to me as the server is " Failed to connect to the server: Server refused client with our name." We are both using vista ultimate/64bit Thank you in advance for your help. |

Make sure you can ping the server from the client. If you're using a firewall, then you may have to either add an exclusion for the Synergy port (24800) or disable your firewall temporarily. Edit: From the comments, turns out the answer is to make sure the client screen name on the server configuration is correct. I turned off Firewall. Forwarded Port 24800. Same problem.

Are you able to ping your PC from your wife's PC, and vice versa?

I figured out the problem. I'm embarassed to say that I mispelled my wife's Screen name. so that it's probably why it did not allow a user with their name. So all is good now. Thank you very much for your assistance!

I get this as well. Name is correct, I've also tried aliases. Telnet from client to server works. It was working perfectly before but now I get the "Failed to connect to the server" error.
client is CentOS 6.2, server is Windows 7
