I'm almost positive this is a simple fix, but I've been looking around websites for a day and a half for it.. Server: Windows 7. 32-bit has worked before with another Win7 laptop. Client: Windows Vista 64-bit, but I've tried Synergy with both 32 and 64 without success. I have done the simple checks for making sure the names and locations match. My internet connection works fine. I am running both synergies as Administrator. Both claim Synergy is running. The mouse and keyboard, however are not able to move from the server screen to the client screen. It's like the programs are doing nothing. Help? |

It is most likely that your configuration is not correct. You can use the logs to find out what happens when you move the mouse off screen (it should say so if this was successful). The solution would be to make sure your configuration is valid. If you're using the 1.4 GUI, then this should be very easy to do. On your server make sure you've added all screens to your configuration and make sure they're arranged how they should be. I'm thinking that, if the screens were not properly added to the config, then you wouldn't see the lightning bold in the tray -- so it could be that your screens are the wrong way round. If all else fails, it could be a UAC issue -- try either disabling UAC temporarily, or running Synergy server and client as Windows services (the GUI can configure this for you). |
In the status bar does it show a lightning bolt to indicate that they are both connected? Are you able to ping from the client to the server using the hostname you input into the client?
Thank you for the quick reply!
Lighting bolts are a go on both server and client. The ping mention gave me an idea to check the log. (View-->Log Output). Sure enough, the server was denying the client. I tweaked a few things and now I have the logs on both saying they are connected, but still nothing. I can't move my mouse and control the other screen. Arg.
Please accept my answer if it is correct.
