I cant get my computers connected. On the server I get this message over and over. WARNING: unrecognised client name "TT-Laptop", check server config NOTE: disconnecting client "TT-Laptop" NOTE: client "Todd-Laptop" has disconnected NOTE: accepted client connection On the client I get this message. NOTE: connecting to '191.161.1.100': 191.161.1.100:24800 ERROR: server refused client with name "TT-Laptop" WARNING: failed to connect to server: server refused client with our name Any help would be appreciated. I would say double check your configuration screen... That looks like the error message you get when your Server isn't expecting your Client. Is it possible you spelled the client's name wrong? Trash the client on the server's configuration screen, and Recreate. Let us know how it goes. :) A |

My problem was connecting my desktop (Vista 32) to my netbook (Win 7 32). I had the same error message. My fix: Go to Edit>Settings> Change the screen name from the default it gave (In my case, from "microbook" to "netbook". Created a new client in the Server Configuration screen with the new name, and voila. It worked. |

Similarly in MAC I had to go to Synergy>Preferences on both machines to re-name the Client...Synergy had to be stopped in order for the Preferences to be accessible. Make sure that they're named exactly the same. Then the Server needs to have theIP address configured and it should work. |
A bit more info.... I have used "run as administrator" to start synergy on both computers. I clicked the elevate button on both machines with no success. Server is running Vista 64 bit, client is Vista 32 bit. Thanks for any suggestions. TT
