I have AVE 2012 and the firewall is setup to allow Synergy (I think). AVE is set up to allow use of Port 24800. When I turn off all the firewalls (3 computers) Synergy works great, but when I turn it back on it stops. Get Timed Out error message. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Odds are that you have to be blocking the wrong port / protocol then. I'm not sure which one Synergy needs, but try making sure you've got both TCP and UDP open and see if that makes a difference.
Also, only the firewall of the server machine should make a difference, unless you have select outbound traffic blocked on the client machines (possible, but less likely).
