I have a question about a potentially similar set up and am just looking for confirmation that this would work. I would like to use one display with a KVM only for switching video between a Windows XP desktop and a MacBook Air. I was then hoping to use Synergy to enable use of the Apple bluetooth keyboard and magic trackpad for both systems. With only one display, I'm guessing I would just have to slide my mouse cursor into the currently displayed system's view?
Thanks for any answers. |

Using Synergy for video is not possible, and probably never will be, sorry. |

If I understand your question correctly, you would be using it the same way that I am, which is to use the KVM switch to just switch video, and it works great. I have a Linux box with the keyboard and mouse plugged in, and a Win7 box, both on a dual display Belkin KVM switch. The only drawback to this setup is that I have to use the buttons on the KVM switch to switch displays as, obviously, the keyboard shortcut doesn't work. But otherwise, it works like a charm. |
