Duplicates: Where has the wrap-around feature gone in 1.4?

My config is as follows:

Client <-> Server

I am able to move my cursor from server to client (left to right, and vice versa), but I can't move the cursor from the right of the server screen to the left of the client screen.

(Before installing 1.4.8 I uninstalled 1.3.1 and 1.3.4; I recall somehow in 1.3.x configuring so the other sides of the server and client also switched the cursor.)

Thank you very much for your Reply, nbolton! But I not only didn't use the old config file, I very thoroughly uninstalled too. Perhaps I'm failing to understand something.

All I see are the config windows in the following jpeg: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/35/synergy14config.jpg/

What am I not understanding about 1.4.x, please? I really appreciate your attention, over at the mailing list I haven't got this resolved yet.

Did you try 1.4.9?

(19 Jul '12, 11:23) nbolton ♦♦

I just tried 1.4.9 (after an thorough uninstall of 1.4.8 on both computers).

No change.

Ah, I didn't understand your question - the original wording confused me. I have re-worded it so it makes more sense to me. Also, please ask 1 quesiton at a time, but I belive that your "neither has a Synergy icon in the system tray" question has already been asked on another thread.

A bit more info on your tray icon comment: We plan to sort out the tray icon stuff in a few releases, please sit tight. http://synergy-foss.org/spit/issues/details/3215/

Ah, so (for now) I simply need to manually modify the config file.

Where can I find the config file in 1.4.9, please?

The only "synergy.sgc" files I see appear (judging by the file dates) to be remnants of my 1.3.x installations (in "My Documents" and C:Windows).

Very sorry about the 2-question post; I guess I got lazy because I vastly overestimated both my ability to write a clear question, and the ease with which answers could be offered.

It's ok. To edit your own config, increase the debug level to see the config file path (Settings) and then open this file with a text editor, and save it to somewhere you'll remember. From there, you can edit this file and use the GUI to load in that file.

(20 Jul '12, 11:51) nbolton ♦♦

Cool, now I've done that repeatedly....how do I get the modification to 'take effect'? Just saving the file doesn't. Restarting Windows doesn't. Clicking Apply or File|Start generates a different config file in C:Documents and Settings<username>Local SettingsTemp (named like "qt_temp.wB3732").

(20 Jul '12, 12:52) coyote

Ah, are you saying that you select your new edited config, but Synergy doesn't actually use the config file? If so please pastebin me your log.

(20 Jul '12, 13:09) nbolton ♦♦

I Save ("select"?) my edited config, with it's same name in that temp directory, with my text editor. (And Synergy doesn't use it.) Should I then be saving it also with Synergy's File|Save configuration as...? (If so, does it need a file extension (my dialog box doesn't offer one)?) I changed my log setting to debug (thinking that would be more helpful), and now Synergy isn't working at all. I've copy/pasted my Log window at http://pastebin.com/bJe0C7sv

(20 Jul '12, 14:00) coyote

p.s. to get Synergy working again I returned the Logging level to Error, and disabled Log to file. And now Synergy is again switching the cursor between one side of each monitor.

(20 Jul '12, 14:03) coyote

Ah, it's using "C:/DOCUME~1/Bill/LOCALS~1/Temp/qt_temp.Hp1000" as your config. Try saving it to C:synergy.conf or something like that. Then check the log to see if that path is actually being used.

(20 Jul '12, 14:39) nbolton ♦♦

Thanks. I just now used Synergy's File|Save configuration as... to create c:synergy.conf but the log still tells me it's using the one in the temp directory. And the c:synergy.conf it created looks like

section: links old: right = dual dual: left = old

(i.e. it lacks the lines I inserted for the other side of both screen)
