I have synergy server 1.4.8 (64 bit) running on a Windows 7 machine and a 32-bit Ubuntu client. I observe the following behavior on that prevents me from playing on my Windows box while the synergy server is running:

  • Mouse behaves normally at first.
  • I press any key on my keyboard.
  • Mouse clicks are now counted as "down"+"up" even if I keep the button pressed, instead of just "down".

Stopping the synergy service stops this from happening. Having Scroll Lock on or off does not affect the behavior, neither does using "relative mouse moves". The "Don't take foreground window on Windows servers" option helps for other reasons, but this weird mouse behavior remains as-is.

Happy to help debug this further!

Synergy isn't compatible with DirectX games, and support is experimental at best. Please disable Synergy while running games.

I've noticed different behavior in Diablo III. What I've been seeing is that I can no longer drag my cursor around. By that I mean, usually, I just click on an area and hold my mouse button down and then drag where I want to go. That doesn't work when Synergy is running. I drag but it doesn't seem to recognize anything after the initial click. Only when Synergy is running, when I stop the server, all is well again.
