In Ubuntu 12.04 with latest updates Synergy client will instantly disconnect from the Windows 7 server upon pressing the shift keys on the keyboard. When this happens Ubuntu will sometimes detect a crash, while others the client just disconnects and will resume working upon restart. Each time this happens the Synergy server reports WARNING: error writing to client "Ubuntubox".

I don't have any custom shortcuts created (I originally thought a default shortcut was the problem), this is mostly just a plain install with nothing configured except the server/client relationship.

I had the same problem. I installed the latest beta on both and it's working now.

I can also confirm this issue. Any modifier key presses seem to cause the client software to crash. This is on a setup with synergys running under Ubuntu 12.04 amd64 and synergyc running under Ubuntu 12.04 i386. This condition occurs using the software from the official repos.

I will now attempt to use the respective beta .deb packages from Synergy.

I have done so and can also report that this issue has been resolved for me.
