Synergy server machine runs synergy as a service automatically when machine boots. It connects to my synergy client machine fine and I use this set up all day without problems: except when my server PC is under high processing load from one of the various other services that run on this box.

The two most common examples of operations that cause mouse cursor to get locked up on server box are anything involving a Firebird database (I have the firebird service running serving to an application that runs in conjunction with Firebird Databases), and when ever I'm dealing with large spreadsheets, or have open a large number of spreadsheets (either open in Excel or Open Office Calc).

Information (synergy server box): Operating System: Win XP SP3 Synergy: 1.4.3 Firebird: 2.5.1 Open Office: 3.3 Microsoft Office: 2010

I've tried running synergy service as system user - but it doesn't work in this mode because service requires interaction with desktop. I have no ideas how I can force OS to respond to my synergy cursor with higher priority than servicing the spreadsheet & other requests - can anyone help?

<bump> This behavior is still occurring - it feels so crippling at times when I cannot drive the client pc when the server CPU is under load. Does anyone know how to make OS give priority to the Synergy service process??
Thanks in advance.

Try running the latest version of Synergy in service mode.
