Hello, I have the following setup:
The host is Ubuntu 11.10 with Gnome Shell (the '*' above denotes the hot corners), the Client is Windows XP. This works great (even Ctrl+Alt+Del works on the client). Now if you replace Windows XP with Windows 7 it no longer works well:
I tried setting up the Ubuntu machine to be the client and Windows 7 the server, this worked better (the mouse had no trouble moving from one screen to the other) but now a bunch of my keys don't work (like the delete key...) and one other annoying thing is that Gnome Shell has hot corners (top left, '*' in my drawing above) and now the hot corner on screen0 no longer "resists" the mouse (allowing you to quickly move the mouse there to activate the corner), now it just jumps to the 2nd monitor (screen1) making that hot corner useless. I tried the dead corner option but it doesn't work, I assume this is meant for 1 screen setups. Has anyone gotten this to work with Windows 7? I'm using 1.4.5 (beta) on both, screen0 is the main screen. Thank you, Gabriel |
I too am using Ubuntu 11.10 with dual monitors. My client is a single monitor 10.04.
I wonder if you could paste your Ubuntu synergy.conf file so that I might compare your setup with mine.
TIA KJ
I have a Ubuntu 11.10 and a Win 7 machines. Both are 64 bits. How could you made them even work. I configured both softwares. But the only way i get a connections is using ubuntu as server. The win machine is detected and then i have a client is dead message. I solved all the config problems that generate an error when the interface is executed but it still not working. It is possible to get a conf file to edit it. I'm using synergy 1.4.5. I'm new to the software and there are some options I don't understand.

I began having your problem #1 suddenly. Used 1.4.7 but tried the nightly build on both Ubuntu Oneiric(host w/mouse & key) and Win7(synergy client) but still nada.
